The West Mill wedding

Melanie and Matt chose to marry at The West Mill wedding venue in Derby. Having heard so many great things about this venue, I wasn’t sure if it’d live up to its name. Boy, was I wrong! The West Mill is a listed, converted old mill, with an industrial and quirky style that really is like no other. Set next to the river Derwent, the West Mill venue is split over four floors, including a bridal preparation room, separate ceremony and reception rooms, and bar area. I absolutely loved photographing Mel and Matt’s wedding, and I can’t wait for the next West Mill weddings I have coming up.

Mel chose Caroline Kent to do her makeup, and Mon Amie to style her hair – a dream team if ever there was one! Both Caroline and Amie did an incredible job, making the already beautiful Mel look flawless. Her look was completed by the most stunning bridal gown by Maggie Sottero. If only I could get married again so that I could wear it too! I think you’ll agree that it suited Mel perfectly.

The beautiful flowers were provided by Elder & Wild and the colours really brought the whole venue to life. The whole wedding was planned to perfection. Mel and Matt even opted to have some smoke bombs as part of their portrait session, and they turned out great!
